Unusual large silver gelatin print by the Czech photographer, composed in photographic montage format with ten various portraits of the great violinist.  The array of images include several of Menuhin playing the violin in front of a curtained window, and more formal studio and profile photographs.  Some light surface creasing, crease to upper right corner and a few spots, else in fine condition. 19.75 x 15.75 inches (50.2 x 40 cm.). Dramatic photograph of the legendary cellist leading a National Symphony Orchestra performance.  Rostropovich, who served as Music Director with the ensemble for seventeen years, has signed in white and dated 1979.  In very fine condition.  10 x 8 inches (25.4 x 20.3cm.).

Original photograph with a montage of portrait shots of the Polish-American pianist, who has signed and inscribed to the Czech photographer on the verso, "Monsieur de Grab / You are a very talented photographer! I hope your book will be published soon / Arthur Rubinstein".  Together with a signed check from Rubinstein to de Grab, in the amount of $1.00, dated July 11th, 1965.  From the personal collection of the Czech photographer,  known especially for his many fine portraits of performing artists.

"The guitar is like a small orchestra seen through backwards binoculars..." - Autograph Quotation Signed with Original Photograph

Original Richard de Grab photograph of the great guitarist playing his instrument, together with an autograph quotation signed reading, translated from the French, "The guitar is like a small orchestra seen through backwards binoculars: equally rich in tone but a smaller frame. / Andrés Segovia / 1965 / Paris."  The quotation is written to verso of Hotel Vernet stationary.  From the personal collection of the Czech photographer,  known especially for his many fine portraits of performing artists.  Light toning to photograph margins; else in very fine condition. Autograph quotation 6.75 x 8.8 inches (17.1 x 22.4 cm.); photograph 7 x 4.5 inches (17.8 x 11.4 cm.).

Urbana, Illinois: American String Teachers Association. 1965. First edition. Hardcover, no dj (as issued). 8vo. 55 pp.  1968 gift inscription to inside front board, else clean throughout. A solid and attractive copy of a scarce book in which the great violinist shares his views and ideas on the Piano-Violin Sonatas of Beethoven. Rather than dissecting the music, Szigeti's analysis discusses the music in terms of human feelings and values, and offers an exceptional insight into Beethoven's life as it relates to the sonatas.

Signed Postcard Photograph "as a reminder of my ninth recording"

Signed postcard photograph of the great prodigy violinist and composer who toured with Bartok and who was later the dedicatee of the Sibelius Violin Concerto. Vecsey is shown as a young boy in a portrait engraving postcard, and has signed beneath the image, inscribed "as a reminder of my ninth recording", Trieste, 1910. Adhesive remnants to verso, with some light corner wear, but overall in fine condition. 3.75 x 5.6 inches (9.5 x 14.2 cm).

Signed photograph of the Israeli pianist and conductor at the podium, his arm raised in a dramatic gesture.  Signature to a dark area, else in very fine condition.  5 x 7 inches (12.7 x 17.8 cm.).

Throughout his career, Barenboim has served as Music Director for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestre de Paris, La Scala, and the Berlin State Opera and Staatskapelle Berlin.

Throughout his long career, Frühbeck served as principal conductor of the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra, the Spanish National Orchestra, the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra, and the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, to name but a few.

Signed 1950 Ski Lift Photograph to NBC Symphony Flautist

Highly amusing signed photograph of the famed conductor riding a ski lift up the slope of 9,000 foot Baldy mountain during his “day off” during a cross-country tour with the NBC Symphony, where he and the 125 members of the orchestra had stopped over en route to a concert engagement in Seattle. Toscanini has inscribed in red ink to the Second Flute and Saxophone player of the orchestra: "To John Fulton / sweet remembrance of our unforgettable tour / (Sun Valley / 1950) / Arturo Toscanini." Mounting remnants to verso, significant staining and some surface chips/nicks to the image surface mostly limited to the right-hand upper quarter, else fine. 8 x 10 inches (20.3 x 25.4 cm).

The image is printed to a loose magazine leaf from an unknown publication, with text to the lower portion reading "Kathleen Battle / Vastly gifted, fiercely perfectionist lyric coloratura soprano, daughter of an Ohio steelworker; 41.
