Screen-worn costume, performed in by the great Italian basso Ezio Pinza in the 1953 film Tonight We Sing during an opera singing number in which he plays Feodor Chaliapin as Mephistopheles in "Faust". Costume consists of a long velvet cape with a Western Costume Co. tag sewn inside with Pinza’s name typed on the second line and “57-2114-2” typed on the first line, with typed measurements. In very good condition, with scattered wear commensurate with film use. Sold together with some contemporary glossy screen pulls showing Pinza in the costume.

An original green wooden mallet from the legendary jazz club, printed on the handle with the words "BILL ROBINSON & CAB CALLOWAY / AN ALL STAR SEPIAN REVUE / COTTON CLUB / BWAY AT 48th STREET / Circle 7-1000". It was the custom at the Cotton Club to show approval of the performers by rapping on the tables with this type of small wooden hammer. Some light wear; overall fine. Mallet head measures 1.5 inches; length measures 6.75 inches.
An exceptional example of the signature of the innovative trumpeter and composer who earned a place among the most influential figures in the history of jazz. Black felt tip ink signature, “Miles d[drawn as a musical note],” on a 4 x 6 inch card with deckled edges. In fine condition, an ideal example.
