Signed 1964 Program Page from "Barefoot in the Park"

An early signature from the young Robert Redford, in his biggest Broadway success, the 1963 Neil Simon play Barefoot in the Park. Redford and fellow cast members Herb Edelman and Ruth White have signed over the cast listing.  Simon's play, starring Redford and Elizabeth Ashley as young newlyweds, was a huge success and the tenth longest-running non-musical play in Broadway history. Penny Fuller replaced Elizabeth Ashley in 1964.  The play was made into a successful 1967 film with Jane Fonda, one of Redford's early leading film roles.  Single sheet removed from program, left edge rough; chipping and one tear to the upper right; otherwise in fine condition.  15.2 x 22.7 cm.

Original 1965 playbill cover from the musical Hello, Dolly! signed by the Hollywood actress and dancing legend, who made a triumphant return to Broadway to replace Carol Channing in the lead role.  Left edge rough; some stains to the right edge; otherwise in fine condition.  1 page, removed from program. 15.4 x 22.8 cm.

Typed Note Signed about "Lettice and Lovage"

Typed note from the English actress whose career in stage and film has spanned six decades.  Dated September 30, 1990 at the Barrymore Theatre in New York, the note thanks a Mr. Swanson for his "kind letter and generous compliments--I'm truly delighted that "Lettice and Lovage" gave you such enjoyment."  Lettice and Lovage, a comedic play by Peter Shaffer, was written specifically for Smith, and won her the 1990 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play.  On a small folded slip, unevenly trimmed but in very fine condition.  10.8 x 14.9 cm.

Trio of satirical campaign posters for the 45th president, created as part of a limited edition by the English artist and anti-authoritarian legend Billy Childish. Posters read: "Pissing into the frothing mouth of Donald Trump" (2nd edition January 2017; numbered 23/113); "Songs the KGB taught me / A golden shower of Donald Trump" (numbered 21/113); and "Presidential Cunt Elect" (numbered 23/113). Each stamped by L-13 studios, London, and deliberately distressed and folded as issued. In fine condition. Each 13.75 x 19 inches (35 x 49 cm).

Original press photograph dated August 26, 1968, of the French novelist, playwright, and political activist smiling broadly while making an appearance at the Youth International Party (Yippie) news conference with Allen Ginsberg. Original press clipping on the verso reads: "Playwright Jean Genet finds Yippies 'very pretty and very interesting.' " Irregularly trimmed with some scratches and one significant tear; overall in good condition. 20.4 x 26.5 cm.

1968 press photograph of the Japanese performance artist overseeing a nude dance protest in Manhattan's financial district in July 1968. Press caption at the right reads: "In an altogether unexpected appearance at the foot of George Washington's statue at Federal Hall on Manhattan's Wall Street, psychedelic painter and sunbathing enthusiast Yayoi Kusama and her troupe put on a mixed show of anatomy, conga playing, and body painting 7/14. [...] When police arrived, the players dashed into their hippie robes and witnesses to the event could only smile." New York: Currier & Ives, 152 Nassau St. ca. 1840. An interesting original Currier and Ives lithograph, bearing a rebus (message in pictures) requesting smokers to dispose of their tobacco properly. The text reads: "Notice to smokers and chewers, [pipe smoking men] [R] requested [toe] [hinge] [inn] the [spitoon] & [chaw plug] & [toe] throw their [peg-legged man] and [tree stumps] [inn] the [stove] or out at the [window]." Foxing and some losses around the edges. 13.5 x 10 inches, nicely framed to 13.5 x 15 inches.
