Django Reinhardt (seated at the left) looks up at cornettist Rex Stewart, while Duke Ellington smiles over his glass of wine in the center and further members of the Quintette du Hot Club de France, including bassist Louis Vola, Django's brother Joseph Reinhardt, Pierre Ferret, and Max Geldray join in. CBS Broadcast - Original Press Photograph

Charming original 1946 photograph of the young Sinatra in the CBS studios with the Met's leading mezzo-soprano of the era, Risë Stevens.  While Stevens sings, Sinatra (his jacket hung on the music stand) dances and snaps his fingers.  Stevens was one of many guest singers on Sinatra's weekly CBS broadcast, The Frank Sinatra Show, beginning in 1945.  A great image of a youthful Frank.  Some minor scratches and wear; press captions on the verso; otherwise in fine condition.  18 x 22.8 cm.

Autograph letter from the most famous actress of the nineteenth century, known as "The Divine Sarah." 1 p.; n.d. Bernhardt writes to a female friend (translated from the French): "My dear, I hope that your mother is feeling better. I embrace you with all my heart [...] Sarah." In pencil on a folded sheet, together with the original black-bordered envelope with Bernhardt's initials on the flap, addressed in ink to a Madame de Ménilly. Typed letter signed from the Anglo-American playwright and writer of musical comedies, concerning the possibility of reviving his 1917 musical Leave it to Jane in England. April 20, [1965]. 1 p. To David Paramor of Aldus Books Ltd. in London, Bolton writes that there is no reason why the "Princess shows"—musicals written with P. G. Wodehouse and Jerome Kern and originally produced during World War I at the Princess Theatre in New York—should not be revived, and goes on to recommend Leave it to Jane and Oh, Lady as two options. Card Expressing Thanks for Condolences

A small card bearing the printed words, "The family of Walt Disney will always hold in grateful remembrance your kind expression of sympathy."  The American entrepreneur, cartoonist, animator, voice actor, film producer, and cultural icon died from lung cancer on December 15, 1966 in Burbank, California. He left behind a vast legacy, including numerous animated shorts and feature films produced during his lifetime; the company, parks, and animation studio that bear his name; and the California Institute of the Arts.  In fine condition, 12.6 x 10.2 cm.

Early typed letter signed from the important American director, looking back on his first film, You're a Big Boy Now. Dated Friday, with original envelope postmarked July 24, 1970. Writing to a Henri Barense of South Vt. Artists Inc, Ford Coppola reflects: "I don't really have much to say about Big Boy—except that I remember despretely [sic] wanting to make it [...] and so up until the film was actually in production, I never believed it was happening..." 1 p. on letterhead of American Zoetrope, with one holograph correction to the typed text. Amusing original photograph of the actress and international star posing rather unhappily with the track team of the University of Southern California, dressed in their uniform. She had apparently been ordered to pose for the picture by MGM shortly after arriving in the US in 1926, and initially refused, capitulating only when the studio threatened to deduct $25 from her salary! Yellow pencil square around Garbo's image; some light scratches and mounting remnants, with picture service stamp and notes on the verso; overall in very good condition. 9 x 7 inches (24.7 x 18.5 cm).
