Fine. Together with a block of four 25-cent US stamps honoring the poet and a postcard of Richard Avedon's famous image of Moore, signed by him on the verso in black ink.

Carte de visite photograph of the important French writer. An uncommon Russian imprint by Wesenberg of St. Petersburg. Toning and light edge wear; overall fine. 2.5 x 4 inches (6.3 x 10.7 cm).
The eminent French author born Amantine-Lucile-Aurore Dupin is better known as George Sand, the masculine pen name she adopted early in her career. An early feminist, she also earned a footnote in musical history as the longtime romantic companion of pianist/composer Frédéric Chopin.
