Large original signed photograph of the important conductor, the first conduct Bruckner's 7th Symphony and the first to record Beethoven's complete 5th Symphony. Nikisch has signed and inscribed the image to "Mr. George Hamlin in affectionate remembrance" and has dated it Feb. 6th, 1905. 7.75 x 11.75 inches [20 x 30 cm]. Yellowed tape and tears along the upper edge affecting the first line of the inscription and first letter of the signature, small surface losses and chips to upper edge and lower right corner, mounting remnants on verso, otherwise good. A rare publication by the Spanish pianist, teacher and composer, co-director of the Escuela Filarmónica de Cádiz and professor at the Academia Filarmónica de Sevilla. His apprarently liberal leanings, lead him to London in 1822.

"At Long Last Love" - Autograph Working Lyrics

Handwritten working lyrics manuscript, in pencil, to ‘At Long Last Love,’ for the 1938 musical You Never Know, written on the reverse of an 8.25 x 10.25 off-white sheet of S. S. Normandie stationery. Porter writes the song title at the top, along with “3rd refrain,” and “Save.” The nine lines of lyrics include two lines which did not appear in the final version and read, in part: “Is it a break down or is it a break? / Is it a Raphael or only a fake? / What can account for these strange pittapats / Could this be the dream, the cream, the cat’s?” In fine condition. Signed list of repertoire of the great Hungarian violinist, court violinist of Queen Victoria and the early sonata partner of Johannes Brahms whom he is credited with "discovering" in a Vienna cafe! A label clipped from the front of an album of music (affixed still to the binding around the edges), on which the violinist has written the pieces once contained therein: "Liberty - Hymn - E. Remenyi // Meditation - Gounod // L. Hymn - P.E. - Remenyi" and signed "Ed. Remenyi." 10 x 6.5 cm, mounted to approx. 12 x 10 cm overall.
