Mildred Bailey (1907 - 1951) was a popular and influential American jazz singer during the 1930s, known as "The Queen of Swing", "The Rockin' Chair Lady" and "Mrs. Swing".

The portrait is by Theobald Chartran, known as "T," one of the most famous of the outstanding caricaturists who published in the magazine. In excellent condition, 15 x 10.5 inches. Nicely framed in tiger eye maple and tastefully matted. Framed size is 17 inches by 11 1/2 inches.

Three sets of scores from The Dolmetsch Collection of English Consorts, published by G. Schirmer of New York, each inscribed with a different sentiment at the top in fountain pen “To Harry,” and signed “Percy, Oct 1944.” The set consists of scores for The Four Note Pavan by Alfonso Ferrabosca; 5-Part Fantasy, No.1 by John Jenkins; and 6-Part Fantasy and Air, No. 1 by William Lawes. Each includes a foreword and introductory note by Grainger, who scored the version for modern string instruments. Light creases, toning, and soiling to the covers, and a tear to the right border of one, otherwise fine condition.

An intriguing mixed media and lithographic work, titled "Triple Concerto," accomplished in honor of the appearances of these three great musicians in San Diego in 1979-80, though we do no believe they actually performed the Triple Concerto together there. By visual artist Quinn Mizer, the work incorporates three lithograph portraits of the musicians and each has signed and dated their respective images in ink. The artist has also signed and placed his seal lower right and numbered the work 16 from an edition of 25. 21 x 29 inches, framed to 28 x 36 inches and in fine condition.
