A remarkable album of over 90 original concert programs, clippings, tickets and flyers chronicling musical performances in 1890's Brighton, London, and Germany, with a predominance of important pianists and violinists represented, as well as opera and theatre programs, and a ticket to the Wagner Nights. Highlights of the performers represented include Emil Sauer, Ignace Paderewski, Pablo de Sarasate, Joseph Joachim, Nellie Melba, Adelina Patti, Emma Albani, and Henry Irving. Many of the programs with notes from the collector; the album is signed by the collector, Sybil Mary Curtis, on the front pastedown, and dated January 3, 1896. Heavy wear to the binding, with spine and boards largely detached; toning. Most programs laid down to the pages, with some loosely laid in. A remarkable collection of 90 original vintage publicity and candid photographs from the legendary actress' most beloved films, together with a small group of candid photographs. Included are photographs from the films Ladies of the Chorus (1), Some Like It Hot (3), The Seven Year Itch (20), Bus Stop (25), No Business Like Show Business (2), River of No Return (10), Don't Bother to Knock (2), The Misfits (2), Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (16); two photographs of Monroe wearing the Moon of Baroda Diamond in a promotional event for Gentlemen Prefer Blondes; three other 8 x 10 portraits of Monroe; one doctored photograph showing Monroe topless in a pose evoking the famous moment in The Seven Year Itch; and four candid photographs of Monroe wearing a light dress and a feather boa at an event (3.5 x 5.25 inches). All other photographs 8 x 10 inches, most being original and of the period though a handful appear to be later issues, and overall in fine condition.
