Boldly signed in fountain pen and in very fine condition.

A fine early photograph of the great French actress, boldly signed on the verso in 1867. 6 x 10 cm. In very fine condition.


One of the most popular French actresses of her time, she had a string of brilliant successes in vaudeville and light comedy at the Palais-Royal, the Variétés, and the Gaîté, specializing in soubrette and "breeches" parts, which came to be known as "Dejazets." Later, after managing the Théâtre Folies with her son, the theater was renamed the Théâtre Dejazet.

Outstanding early inscription and original Pinocchio production cel

Blue pencil signature and inscription, "To Peggy Fox, from Walt Disney," on a brown 4.25 x 2 card affixed to the mat of an original production cel featuring a girl puppet from the classic 1940 Walt Disney Studios film Pinocchio. The cel has been trimmed and applied to an airbrushed background as prepared by the Disney Studio to be sold at the Courvoisier Galleries. Image measures 3 x 5.25, with a mat opening of 8.5 x 7.5. Matted and framed to an overall size of 16.5 x 16. The original Disney Courvoisier Galleries label is affixed to the reverse. In fine condition. Pinocchio was the second animated feature film produced by Disney and the first such film to win a competitive Academy Award, making production materials—especially those bolstered by Disney’s signature from the period—extremely desirable.

Original 6.5 x 8.5 inch photograph of Richard Rodgers and Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman "who are teamed up to write songs for the moves and who seem to be getting a lot of their inspiration from the desert sun. They are shown here in the daily line-up of sun bathers alongside of of the desert pools." Stamped March 1, 1933 on the verso, a few nicks and small stains otherwise very good.
