Signed Photograph as Dracula, inscribed in Hungarian

Vintage original 8 x 10 inch doubleweight, gelatin silver, matte, black-and-white dramatic portrait of the dashing actor in his most famous role, as “Dracula”. Inscription in black ink on tuxedo shirt front and signed, “Lugosi Bela." Bending and mild cracking on the left lapel, small nicks on lower lip and jaw, pinholes in corners and around the margins, upper right and lower left corners chipped, all outside of the image. Most of these faults easily matted out of sight and none detracting significantly from the intensity of the image.

The letters filled with an interesting textured metal, each corner with a hole for mounting. Ca. 1875, 2.5 x 4 inches, with the imprint of the Oslo (Kristiana) music publisher Carl Warmuth on the mount. With a few scattered marks around the edges, overall fine.
