Schulz, Charles M. (1922 - 2000) & Lantz, Walter. (1899–1994) . Signed Sketches of Snoopy and Woody on the same page.

Wonderful original sketches of Snoopy and Woody Woodpecker accomplished in ink and felt tip pen on the same white cardstock sheet by their respective legendary cartoonists, Charles Schulz and Walter Lantz, with each artist signing below their character. In very fine condition. 6.75 x 4.75 inches; 17 x 12 cm.

Written and illustrated by Charles M. Schulz, the syndicated daily and Sunday American comic strip Peanuts ran from October 2, 1950, to February 13, 2000 (the day after Schulz's death), continuing in reruns afterward. The strip is considered to be one of the most popular and influential in the history of the medium, with 17,897 strips published in all, making it "arguably the longest story ever told by one human being", according to Professor Robert Thompson of Syracuse University. At its peak, Peanuts ran in over 2,600 newspapers, with a readership of 355 million in 75 countries, and was translated into 21 languages.

Walter Benjamin Lantz was an American cartoonist, animator, film producer, director and actor best known for founding Walter Lantz Productions and creating Woody Woodpecker. The biggest characters for the studio were Woody, Andy Panda, Chilly Willy, and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. The music-oriented Swing Symphony cartoons were another successful staple, but ended after swing music died out.
