Vintage Viennese postcard caricature of the composer and conductor, ca. 1908. The verso inscribed with an autograph note dated December 24, [19]08, sending Christmas wishes from Walter Morse Rummel to Lilli Lehman.  In fine condition. 3.54 x 5.3 inches; 8.5 x 13.5 cm.

An interesting connection between the important pianist closely associated with Debussy and a leading interpreter and proponent of Debussy's piano compositions, and the influential German operatic dramatic coloratura soprano. Lehmann sang in the first Bayreuth Festival in 1876, singing in the first complete performances of The Ring Cycle as Woglinde and Helmwige. She performed in London in 1884, and appeared at the New York Metropolitan Opera in 1885–1899. Together with her Met colleagues FischerAlvaryBrandt, and Seidl, she helped to popularise Wagner's music in America.
