Bromoil gelatin silver print, stamped by the photographer with her copyright stamp and handwritten date [19]88 on verso, identifying this as a "Work Print" outside of the numbered editions. This example boldly signed in black and blue inks to the lower blank margin by the two subjects with their names alone, "Mikhail Baryshnikov" (in Cyrillic), and "Mark Morris." In pristine, very fine condition. 8.5 x 10 inches; 20.2 x 25.2 cm.

Baryshnikov and Morris first worked together in 1988, when Baryshnikov commissioned Morris to choreograph “Drink To Me Only With Thine Eyes” for American Ballet Theatre. The present Annie Leibovitz photograph was first published in the June, 1988 issue of Vanity Fair magazine, where it accompanied the article "Misha makes a Mark," about their collaboration.
