Folio 13½'' x 9¼''. 276 pp. of English text with 77 stunning full-page tipped-in colour plates with a portrait photograph and tipped-in colophon. This copy numbered 1293 of 1500 Limited Edition copies bound in silk, printed on handmade paper specially made at Fabriano in the Pietro Miliani papermill.  SIGNED and inscribed on the title  "To Paul / Erté." Spine discolored from sun exposure, light wear to corners, else very fine throughout, contained in a lightly worn black black slipcover box.

Uncommon signed copy of this sumptuous volume from the Russian-born French artist and designer who flourished in a range of fields including fashion, jewelry, graphic arts and costume design.  From the library of Paul McMahon, a critic, photographer and artist who worked for more than 13 years touring with Marlene Dietrich as the icon’s stage manager, announcer, dresser, secretary and escort, and later spent 25 years as an arts and entertainment reviewer and photographer with Gay Community News, Esplanade, Tommy’s Connection, The Mirror, Bay Windows and other publications.
