Walter, Bruno. (1876–1962). Letter regarding Weber and Busoni.

Typed letter, signed "Bruno Walter." 1 page, on Hyde Park Hotel (London) letterhead. Dated 17 May, 1955. Addressed to Basil Ashmore, about a possible recording. In part: “Let me tell you that Weber’s Euryanthe belongs to my life and I performed this immortal work in Munich, Berlin, Vienna, Salzburg, etc., but to make a record of it would be too heavy a sacrifice from one of the recording companies. Busoni, about whom you ask, whom I admire as an important musician and high-minded personality is as a composer not so near to my heart." In fine condition, with slightly trimmed edges.
