[Musical Manuscript, 18th Century] Handel, George Frederic. (1685-1759). Ca. 1750 Century Chant and Instrumental Manuscript including Minuets by Handel. Autograph manuscript in an unknown hand. English, ca. 1750 Oblong folio (20 x 16 cm), 60 pp. The first six recto pages inscribed with neumatic notation in black and red ink of a Kyrie, Gloria, Credo and Sanctus from an unidentified Mass. The verso of the first five of these pages are inscribed in later standard staff notation as follows: Minuet, Minuet in Floridante [Handel, 1721], Minuet in Radamisto [Handel, 1720], Minuet, March, March..., March in Floridant [sic], Duett by Festing [Michael Christian Festing (1705 - 1750), English violinist and composer]. The final verso includes a Cantate Domino in open note neumatic notation and the MS continues in evidently the same hand and style, each section titled as follows: Allelluia [fragment], Ad Vesperas, In Festis Duplicibus ad Pincas Vesperas, Ad Completorium, Litania B M Virginis, In Solemnitatibus, In Majoribus, Solemnitatibus, In Festis duplicibus per Anum, n Festis duplicibus Secunda classis, Mia Missa in Majoribus Solemnitatibus, The Dies Irae, The Dies Irae, Missa Votiva de Angelis, Missa Votiva de Sancta Cruce, 4 pages of various neumatic and standard notation short compositions, concluding with a final page with several notational charts

An interesting manuscript, likely accomplished by a liturgical music student and including not only original works for the church but a number of popular tunes of the day by Handel and others. Edges nicked and browned, with a few losses along the bottom. Overall very good, loosely bound with string and leather fragments from a former binding.
