Debussy sat for this portrait in 1913. The portrait was reproduced in the 1927 edition of 250 numbered copies of the composer's letters to Durand. This is one of the original impressions from the edition of 100, signed in pencil lower right and numbered left 19 of 100. 9.75 x 12.5 inches. Edges and corners a little rough and creased, small surface impression in right margin nearly going through the sheet, surface crease within the plate middle left. From the estate of Mel Powell (1923 - 1998), Pulitzer-winning composer and former jazz great.
