[Film] Leigh, Vivien. (1913-1967). Signed Photograph. Rare and desirable vintage glossy 8 x 10 inch portrait of Leigh as Paola in the Christopher Fry/Jean Giraudoux play "Duel of Angels," signed in blue ink lower right corner. Pin holes to corners, otherwise in fine condition.



Leigh won two Best Actress Academy Awards for playing "southern belles": Scarlett O'Hara in "Gone with the Wind" (1939) and Blanche DuBois in the film version of "A Streetcar Named Desire" (1951), a role she had also played on stage in London's West End. Duel of Angels opened on 24 April 1958 at the Apollo Theatre in a production directed by Jean-Louis Barrault and starring Leigh, Claire Bloom and Peter Wyngarde among others. Leigh resumed the role in the production at the Helen Hayes Theatre in NYC which opened on 19 April, 1960.
