A fine chromo-lithograph caricature published in the English weekly magazine Vanity Fair on February 1, 1879. The composer is shown in a pensive pose with legs wrapped around the back of a chair, looking off into the distance. The portrait is by Theobald Chartran, known as "T," one of the most famous of the outstanding caricaturists who published in the magazine. In excellent condition, 15 x 10.5 inches. Nicely framed in tiger eye maple and tastefully matted. Framed size is 17 inches by 11 1/2 inches.
