Cliburn, Van. (1934 - 2013). Early Signed Photograph and White House Invitation. Early 10 x 8 inch photograph of the late American pianist who won worldwide recognition in 1958 after winning the first International Tchaikovsky Piano Competition in Moscow, at the height of the Cold War. Boldly signed and inscribed, somewhat creased and rippled, and sold together with an original White House invitation for performance by Van Cliburn in honor of His Excellency The Federal Chancellor of The Republic of Austria, and a copy of Cliburn's historic 1959 Tchaikovsky Concerto recording.

The recipient of the autograph, Alice Carr, worked at the Steinway & Sons showroom in New York City.
