In 1948, American author and music collector Kenneth E. Crouch wrote a friendly letter to Wolfgang Wagner, Richard Wagner's grandson, expressing support and hope for a timely resumption of the Bayreuth Festival. Wagner responded with this signed letter and five snapshots of Wahnfried, the family home, one showing the damage to the home that was sustained during the Second World War.
