Rubinstein, Arthur. (1887–1982). Original Photograph of Rubinstein in Poland. Original glossy 8 x 10 inch press photograph of the great pianist strolling through Warsaw on historic return to Poland at age 92.

"Sentimental Journey for Arthur Rubinstein: Arthur Rubinstein, one of the greatest pianists the world has ever known, has been making a sentimental journey to Poland, the land of his birth 92 years ago. Although he had to give up public concerts a few years ago because of his failing eyesight, the remarkable pianist, who now lives in Paris with his wife, Nelly Rubinstein, remains sprightly and gifted with a marvellous memory and an inexhaustible fund of stories concerning many of the twentieth century's most famous figures. Recently Rubinstein revisited Poland in the company of a film crew shooting a TV series centered around Chopin, another Polish born musical genius. Apart from Warsaw, Rubinstein visited Zelazowa Wola (Chopin's birthplace) and Lodz, his own birthplace. 'I feel great sentiment towards the country of my childhood,' he declared."

Photograph shows Rubinstein as he strolls through Warsaw Old Town accompanied by Roman Jasinski (art critic and personal friend) and Ms A. Whitestone, Rubinstein's secretary.
