4 oversize oblong folio (406 x 448 mm; 16 x 17.625 inches), leaves from one of 900 copies (of which these are of those 675 on paper, unnumbered) music printed in black on red staves in facsimile of the composer's extraordinary caligraphic autograph manuscript, each with black and white illustrated titles to each piece by Charles Martin. Those sports and pastimes of pre-war France included are: "Le Carneval," "La Pieuvre," "Les Quatre Coins," and "Le Tennis." All in fine condition.
As art historian Roger Shattuck has written, this folio remains "perhaps the sole example of a modern work that combines, precariously but successfully, calligraphy, painting, poetry, and music."
