The publisher Artaria was the chief Viennese publisher of Mozart's works during his lifetime and issued forty-nine publications by him between 1778 and 1791. The present engraving bears the mark C.P.S.C.M. ('cum privilegio Suae Caesareae Majestatis'), allowing us to date the engraving to within the ten-year printing privilege issued on 28 January, 1782 by the Reichofsrat of Emperor Joseph II.
