A letter with wonderful content addressed to composer Henry Cowell's widow, asking her to forward a letter to Olive Cowell explaining that he is unable to attend a memorial for Cowell. In part: "Henry's passing was naturally a deep shock to me. Life-long friends leave us, and there is really nothng to say - but everything to feel! / Henry was a great spirit and a noble artist, I am glad that I knew him and lived in his time!"
