A scarce letter from the celebrated Italian soprano, creator of the roles of Adalgisa in Bellini's "Norma" and Adelia in Donizetti's "Ugo, conte di Parigi." ALS signed 'G. Grisi,' four pages on two adjoining sheets, 4 x 5, Villa Salviati letterhead, no date. Addressed to fellow opera diva Adelina Patti. In part: 'Many many thanks for your very kind note and having thought of me. I am always to hear of you and of all your triumphs that you really deserve…My best compliments to the Marquis.' In very good condition, with several brushes to text, light show-through from text on reverse, and a bit of light soiling.
