One-of-a-kind vintage cigarette case from the 1940’s with etched/incised signatures of some of the 20th century's greatest musicians: Josef Hofmann, Thomas Beecham, Albert Spalding, Gregor Piatigorsky, Walter Grossman, Raya Garbousova, Richard Crooks, Leonard Rose, and Nathan Milstein. 90% silver, stamped ‘900’ on the bottom inside of the case. 3.5 inches long, 3.25 inches wide, and .75 inches tall. 3.64 troy ounces. Two elastic straps inside intended to hold cigarettes.


The history of this remarkable and no doubt unique item remains unknown. The collection of signatures suggests the case may have been commissioned for a figure of a certain standing within the musical community - possibly a manager or a recording engineer.
