Moore was a wonderful soprano and an internationally famous star of the Metropolitan Opera, Broadway, motion pictures, radio and recordings who was also known as, and played, “The Tennessee Nightingale.” She died tragically in an airplane crash in 1947. It has been claimed that Elvis Presley's "Graceland" mansion was named in honor of her.
