Horszowski, Miecio [Mieczyslaw]. (1892-1993). Signed Childhood Photograph. Superb signed original photograph of the prodigy pianist who performed extensively from childhood until age 99! A rare early image by Varischi Artico & Co. of Milan, boldly signed on the lower mount and dated 4.3.06. In 1906, Horszowski was touring extensively throughout the capitals of Europe, during which time he played for Queen Alexandra at Buckingham Palace, as well as making his London debut at Steinway Hall (where he was reported as being eleven years of age); played for Pope Pius X at the Vatican in Rome, and toured Brazil and Uruguay. In December of the same year Horszowski made his American recital debut at New York’s Carnegie Hall.
