[Music Iconography]. Double Portrait of Italian Singers, late 18th Century. A rare double portrait of two unidentified musicians, possibly Italian singers, accomplished on both sides of a copper plate in the skilled hand of one or possibly two fine painters of the Continental school. Recto shows a figure in half-length, in red costume and holding a musical manuscript. Verso shows a portrait of a different figure, possibly painted in another hand. Both sides oil on copper, 6.5 x 5 in. Slight surface loss to both sides, overall very fine. Elegantly presented in a custom double-sided table-top frame.
