Lipatti, Dinu. (1917-1950). Autograph Note on Calling Card. A very rare printed visiting card "Dinu Lipatti" with his handwritten message on the obverse, a fancy drawing of the date, time and his telephone number, and a message on the verso in French regarding a cold remedy! This was apparently intended to be an admission to his concert. Although the writing on both sides is by Lipatti, he did not sign it.
Lipatti died of Hodgkin's disease at the age of 33, in December of that year. Considered one of the finest pianists of the 20th century, he left an impressive recorded legacy despite the brevity of his performing career.
