Original Theatre Royal Covent Garden broadside, dated May 13, 1826 advertising a "Whitsun-Eve" performance under the auspices of George Smart's "Grand Performance of Ancient and Modern Music." The composer conducted a large selection of pieces from his opera "Der Freischütz," as well as "A Grand Miscellaneous Act to commence with (by particular desire) the Grand Jubilee Overture." The concert also featured a performance by the celebrated Anglo-Italian violinist Nicolas Mori (1796 - 1839), and a selection from Handel's "Acis and Galatea." Among others, the great singers assembled included Elizabeth Vestris and John Braham. In very fine condition, 20.5 x 33.5 cm. Rare.
