Habeneck, Francois-Antoine. (1781-1849). Five 1843 Programs from the "Société des Concerts du Conservatoire.". A collection of original programs from the important French violinist and conductor who founded the Société des Concerts du Conservatoire in 1828, introducing Beethoven's symphonies to France.  "The orchestra of 86 and chorus of 79 were under Habeneck’s direction and remained so for 184 concerts until his death.  The orchestra of the society quickly attained the same high standard as that of the Opéra and was admired and emulated all over Europe." The present programs all date from the 16th season of the Société, and include the 1st, 5th, 7th, and 8th programs as well as the 1st Concert Spirituel from the season of 8 performances.  The programs include early French performances of works by Mendelssohn, Beethoven, Mozart, Weber, Cherubini, Handel, Gluck and Haydn as well as appearances by soloists including Wilmers, Chevillard, Van Gelder, and Dupont among others.  In very fine condition overall, with scattered foxing and usual folds.  Each 6.25 x 10 inches (16 X 25 cm.).
