He later co-founded the Ulm School of Design, heading its architecture and product design departments in the 1950s, and sat in the Swiss Parliament from 1967 to 1971. He died in Berlin in 1994.

Margit Staber was a mid-20th-century European art writer and critic, known for catalogue texts for artists including Max Bill and for her associations with avant-garde artists and architects of the 1950s and 1960s.
