Original vintage postcard photograph of the young starlet, signed and inscribed in white ink on the image, "Best Wishes / Gloria Grahame," and with an autograph note in blue ink to verso: "Thank you for your kind wishes. Just completed "Merton of the Movies" "Song of the Thin Man" "Crossfire" and Roughshod. I shall be interested to know how you like these films." The following year she would be nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards for her work on "Crossfire".  5.5 x 3.5 inches. 
Though addressed to Miss E. Blake, this is from the collection of Eddie Blake, projectionist at the United Kingdom's Shepperton film studios. Founded in 1931, it reopened after the war at the helm of Sir Alexander Korda  - among the films in which he was involved during this period were The Fallen Idol (1948) and film noir classic, The Third Man (1949) which was shot both on location and at the studios. An avid autograph collector, Blake developed relationships with many of the leading actors and film composers of the period.
