Striking large and heavy bronze medal in geometric cubist style by the noted French medalist. Front depicting a Jazz orchestra, signed A[ndré] Galtie; obverse wiyh a stylized contemporary African mask, signed with the monogram “AG.” Hallmark to edge with the cornucopia of the Paris Mint and the mention "bronze," dated 1986. Diameter: 7 cm; Thickness: 0.7 cm; Weight: 330 grams. Very fine. Reference: CMP Vol.4, p.780 B.
