Jerry Weintraub was a major force in the entertainment industry for 45 years until his death in 2015. More recently remembered for his astonishing career as a film and television producer, he first achieved great success as a concert promoter and artist manager. Essentially starting the model of national touring, in 1970 he promoted the first national concert tour by the King, Elvis Presley. He also worked with such major artists as John Denver, Frank Sinatra, Neil Diamond, The Carpenters, The Beach Boys, and Bob Dylan.

Bob Dylan signed with Weintraub in 1978 after watching a Neil Diamond concert in Las Vegas, knowing that Weintraub managed the impressive event. Biographer David Morrell writes, "We take this for granted now, but Weintraub's ability to organize these massive concerts made show-business history."

Street-Legal is the eighteenth studio album by Bob Dylan, released on June 15, 1978 by Columbia Records.
