Autograph letter signed ("F. Liszt"), 1p, in French, 8 x 5 inches, n.p., n.d.. To French writer and critic, Jules Janin (1804 - 1874). Translated in part: "It would be very kind of you, my dear Janin, to simply insert a brief notice in the Journal des Débats announcing our third session. If, perchance, you could make mention of it in your Monday column, I would be most grateful..." Two small tears repaired on verso, small tear to attached blank leaf, otherwise in very fine condition. Together with a vintage black and white postcard photograph of the composer later in life, seated at the piano.

The Journal des Débats was a prominent Parisian newspaper that served as a major voice for 19th-century musical criticism.
