Perfectly over-the-top signed photograph of the Portuguese-born Brazilian singer, dancer, and actress, nicknamed "the Brazilian Bombshell," known for her signature fruit hat and other extravagant outfits. She is shown here wearing a lighthouse and various other maritime accoutrements. 7 1/4" by 9 1/4". Very fine. 

The inscription is to Wayne Reed. We included a reference image of a newspaper photograph which explains that Reed had made a marionette of the actress which he showed to her in Miami and she asked him to reproduce for her Beverly Hills home. 

On August 4, 1955, Miranda suffered a heart attack during a segment of "The Jimmy Durante Show," although she did not realize it at the time. After completing a dance number, she unknowingly suffered a mild heart attack, and nearly collapsed. Though she quickly pulled herself together and finished the show with a smile and a wave, she died later that night after suffering a second heart attack at her home.
