Ives, Charles. (1874–1954). 50 Songs. Redding, CT: C.E. Ives. 1922. First Edition.

Folio. 6-1/2 in. x 12 in. 258 [i.e. 112]) pages ; 31 cm. Original printed tan paper-covered board boards with cloth back and quarter-bound with deteriorated paper spine label. Binding loose but attached, a heavily worn copy with occasional pencil markings throughout, a number of pages with heavy chipping or tears, four leaves heavily so or separated, but otherwise good and complete.

A self-published volume of songs by Charles Ives, selected from "114 Songs," a volume published earlier the same year, printed for distribution among the composer's friends. That was issued in only 1500 copies and it is presumed this publication was issued in a significantly small number.

A selection of "folk songs" by Ives, many dedicated to the work of literary greats of the generation that preceded him—Shelley, Wordsworth, Goethe, Longfellow, and others.
