Dietrich, Marlene (1901–1992) . "Marlene Dietrich Souvenir Album" - SIGNED LP.
Original 10 inch 33 RPM (Decca DL 5100) of the great German actress and singer, boldly signed and inscribed in black ink on the cover to Paul McMahon, a critic, photographer and artist who worked for more than 13 years touring with Marlene Dietrich as the icon’s stage manager, announcer, dresser, secretary and escort, and later spent 25 years as an arts and entertainment reviewer and photographer with Gay Community News, Esplanade, Tommy’s Connection, The Mirror, Bay Windows and other publications. Very light wear to edges of cover back and front, record seemingly in good condition though untested, else fine.

This is the 1949 reissue of Decca Presents Marlene Dietrich, the debut album of the singer and actress, first released in 1940 by Decca Records as part of their Decca Personality Series of box sets.  The album featured songs from her films and personal favorites, recorded in Los Angeles under conductor Victor Young and was originally issued as three 78 RPM singles, and then later, with additional tracks, including "Lili Marleen". Critics at the time noted Dietrich's distinctive, smoky delivery, emphasizing how her understated yet expressive vocals suited the album's intimate mood.
