Uncommon set of autograph signatures of the Calvet Quartet, signed "with all our compliments and in memory of our performance...13 Dec. 1934" by Joseph Calvet, Daniel Guilevitch, Léon Pascal and Paul Mas. Originally obtained by the mother of Antares Parvulescu, a student of Enesco in Paris who later pursued a career in the sciences in the US. Founded in 1919 by violinist Joseph Calvet, they were widely regarded as the world’s foremost quartet between 1930-1950 (along with Belgium’s Pro Arte Quartet) and many composers dedicated works to them, including: Vincent d'Indy, Marcel Delannoy, Jean Françaix, Florent Schmitt, Henri Sauguet, Reynaldo Hahn and Joseph-Guy Ropartz.
