Palanca (Santillana, Pedro). (1968 - 2014). [Untitled], 2010 - Original Drawing.

Black ink and colored pencil drawing, on wove paper. Signed and dated in pencil, 2010. Measures 11.75 x 9.75 inches. (29.8 x 24.8 cm)

Palanca (born Pedro Saltillana) was an artist known for his homoerotic fetish art, often centering on the bare male foot. Though he had been making underground erotic drawings from an early age, it was not until 1994 that his pseudonym was born — Palanca in Spanish means lever, or gear shift and from 1995 to 2001, Palanca's style went from more primitive to cartoonish. In 2001, Palanca went to Los Angeles and subsequently showed at Tom of Finland Art & Culture Festivals, LA Pride's Erotic City, and TOM's Bar. In 2007, he was honored with a Special Recognition from the Tom of Finland Foundation. His drawings have appeared in American magazines FootScene, Sneerzine, Honcho, and Inches, and also in European magazines.
