The same program of the LSO's inaugural concert (9 June 1904) originally conducted by Hans Richter, the program included  Wagner - Overture to Die Meistersinger; JS Bach Suite in D; Mozart - Overture to Die Zauberflote; Elgar - Variations on an Original Theme;  Liszt - Hungarian Rhapsody in F; Beethoven - Symphony No 5 in C minor.

A review from The Times, June 10, 1925, notes that "The LSO yesterday celebrated the 21st anniversary of its first concert, that which Richter conducted on June 9, 1904, by a repetition of the programme at Queen's Hall," while the Evening Standard reported that "Mr. Serge Koussevitsky conducted the rest of the concert with at times a fierceness of downbeat that made his baton literally whistle as it cut through the air. The "Magic Flute" overture was a fine feat of contrived fervour and neatness. The audience was on the thin but not on the cool side."
