Capa, Cornell. (1918 - 2008). Two Inscribed Photography books by Cornell and Robert Capa, with Autograph Presentation Letter to Lester Wunderman.
Two volumes of works by the celebrated brother photographers, each inscribed and signed by Cornell Capa, together with an autograph letter from him to noted advertising executive Lester Wunderman, who was also a notable photographer exhibiting at the Metropolitan and other museums, and who, with Cornell Capa, helped found the International Center of Photography in New York. Letter dated May 24, 1984, one page, to Sue and Lester, "The enclosed covers some fifty years of photography and ten years of ICP...I am glad that you have shared a good part of the journey...Fondly Cornell." Letter slightly toned, both volumes fine, as follows:

Cornell Capa: I Grandi Fotografi. Milan: Gruppo Editoriale Fabbri, 1984. First Edition. Inscribed and signed by Cornell. 64 pages; black & white and color photos throughout. Text in Italian. Inscribed: "To Sue and Lester, / My abbreivated retrospective between covers! / I am glad that presently it exists with italian text- / the pictures will have to / 'speak for themselves'...! / Fondly / Cornell Capa / May 24, 1984."

Robert Capa: I Grandi Fotografi. Milan: Gruppo Editoriale Fabbri, 1984. First Edition. Inscribed and signed by Cornell. 64 pages; black & white and color photos throughout. Text in Italian. Inscribed: "To Sue and Lester, / My brother's life, spent in eyewitnessing the human travail, serves as an inspiration for all I do. I am happy to share it with you. / Fondly / Cornell/ May 24, 1984." 

A remarkable pair of association copies.  Lester Wunderman (1920-2019)is widely considered the creator of modern-day direct marketing. His innovations included the magazine subscription card, the toll-free 1-800 number, loyalty rewards programs, and many more. He identified, named, and defined the term "direct marketing" in a 1967 speech at MIT, and was inducted into the Advertising Hall of Fame in 1998.
