Signed program booklet of a performance of Mozart's Don Giovanni at The Glyndebourne Opera, July 8, 1939.  The cover bears the signatures of conductor Fritz Busch (in ink) and all members of the cast (in pencil).  10 x 7.25 inches (25.5 x 18.5 cm). Somewhat worn and soiled but in very good condition overall.

A remarkable assembly of signatures.  Busch, exiled from Germany since 1933, was the legendary first conductor of the Glyndebourne Festival, whose tenure was cut short by his sudden death twelve years later.  Most of the soloists were regulars at Glyndebourne and enjoyed international careers, with Brownlee, Borgioli and Baccaloni also appearing at the Met.  Souez, the Donna Anna in this production and the only American (erroneously identified as "British" in the program) in the cast, became a jazz singer after 1945.
