Ysaye, Eugene. (1858–1931). Original Aimé Dupont Jumbo Cabinet Photograph. Magnificent original early Aimé Dupont of New York jumbo cabinet photograph of the masterful violinist shown seated and smoking his pipe. An apparently unrelated photograph of the cathedral at Chatres is affixed to the mount verso. Small stains along left edge and corners somewhat chipped, but otherwise good and most remarkable and unusual in this large size. 8.5 x 11 inches.
Carl Flesch called him "the most outstanding and individual violinist I have ever heard in my life," and he was the dedicatee of many major works from Debussy, Saint-Saens, Franck, Chausson and others.
