Signed promotional shot by Steven Aucoin of the American actress and dancer, with printed caption to lower margin and label mounted to verso both advertising her as the star in a production of Cole Porter's Can-Can at the Wang Center in Boston. Inscribed to Paul McMahon. 10 x 8 inches (25.7 x 20.4 cm). In fine condition.
The label dates the Boston performances to June 21 to 26 but does not give the year. The caption, however, with its blanks for dates of performances, and multiple references to the participation of the Radio City Music Hall Rockettes make it clear that this photo was distributed to advertise the 1988 touring production of the musical. Rivera is best known for creating the role of Anita in West Side Story in 1957.
