[Harlem Renaissance]. "Musical Fashion Revue" —Invitational flyer with a ribbon. Flyer announcing a "Musical Fashion Revue" presented by "IRA" at the Renaissance Casino in Harlem, New York, on Sunday, December 8 [no year].  One leaf (verso blank).  The "mannequins" are Lena Horne and "Ladies from the Cotton Club"; the list of "Guest Stars" includes Claude Hopkins, Nina Mae McKinney, Orlando Robeson, Luckey Roberts, John Henry, Butterbeans & Susie "& many others." The Nicholas Brothers are listed as "Extra 'special' guests."  Vernon Andrade's Great Orchestra provided the accompaniment.  All writing is reproduced calligraphy; no typeset font.  Wrapped in a red silk ribbon.  8.5 x 11 inches (21.6 x 28 cm), with original horizontal fold and two vertical folds, possibly also original; in fine condition overall.

A very fine document from the Harlem Renaissance.  The Renaissance Casino opened in 1923 and was owned by African-Americans until 1931.  The only year within this period in which December 8 was a Sunday was 1929, making this the likely year of the event.
