Program of an orchestral concert in Rome featuring the great Czech violinist and composer as soloist, February 23, 1911.  One leaf (verso blank).  Signature sideways to right.  9.75 x 6.5 inches (25 x 16.8 cm).  Soloist's name underlined in red crayon; rusty impression of paper clip to head; traces of glue to right edge of verso; else in very good condition.

"At the outset of his career in 1898 Kubelík was acclaimed as ‘a second Paganini’ in Vienna and other cities, including London, where he made his début in 1900 at a Richter concert in St James’s Hall.  He toured the USA from 1901, as well as South America, East Asia, Australia and Africa in later years.  Kubelík was regarded as an outstanding exponent of the Ševčík violin method, and the essence of his art was his absolute technical mastery of a wide repertory and his depth of musical perception." Gracian Černušá and Alena Němcová in Grove Music Online
